MAKE A FILM INSPIRED BY 100 YEARS OF BBC STORYTELLING

To mark the BBC centenary, from June to October 2022, we offered emerging filmmakers across the UK access to 150 films from BBC Archive for creative reuse in short film projects. Through workshops in Belfast, London, Glasgow, and Leeds, 50 emerging filmmakers created short films inspired by 100 years of BBC storytelling, mentored by some of the leading filmmakers in the UK working with archive film in their practice. Participants chose from the themed selection of films here, using excerpts of up to two minutes in their films, subject to the terms of use in our FAQ.

The short films produced showcase an extraordinary range of new voices and creative approaches to our cultural heritage, on themes including the environment, mental health, youth culture, immigration, and the Black British experience. This exciting new work premiered at sold-out screenings in Belfast, London, Glasgow, and Leeds at the end of October.
